Tower Defense X: BETA Tower Defense X Tower Battles Event

Part 1 collab history, rewards, and what Part 2 may bring to Void Lands.

Tower Battles Event

The Tower Battles Event is Tower Defense X’s crossover with Planet3arth’s Tower Battles — a separate Roblox tower defense franchise with its own map vocabulary, token economy, and cosmetic identity. Part 1 ran from July 12 through September 22, 2024, introducing a dedicated TB gamemode, battle pass progression, exclusive skins, emotes, and towers that still appear in community loadouts years later. Part 2 is teased on the official 2026 Roadmap with Void Lands theming, three factions, and Scout, Aviator, and Phaser tower previews — not released at the time of this article.

This page documents what Part 1 actually shipped, how rewards interact with permanent progression, and where to read forward-looking leaks without confusing them with live content.

Part 1 timeline and collaboration scope

Top Down Games and JOHN ROBLOX partnered with Planet3arth to import Tower Battles flavor into TDX without merging the two games’ balance sheets. Part 1 was time-limited: players earned TB tokens through event queues, spent them on battle pass tiers, and unlocked cosmetics tied to both franchises. The event window (Jul 12 – Sep 22, 2024) meant late joiners had roughly ten weeks to complete tiers before shop rotation — standard for TDX seasonal events but punishing for accounts that discovered TDX afterward.

If you missed Part 1 entirely, some rewards may never return unless developers run a rerun. Track limited towers on Event Towers and compare against Crystal-unlocked staples on Towers Overview.

Battle pass — 13 skins and emotes

Part 1’s battle pass featured 13 skins spanning TDX towers and Tower Battles-inspired visuals, plus emotes for lobby expression. Skins are cosmetic — they do not change upgrade paths, stealth detection, or resist interactions documented on Tier List Hub. Emotes likewise carry no combat advantage.

Battle pass tier pacing rewarded consistent daily play in TB gamemode queues rather than one-weekend Endless marathons. Players who split time between Expert grind and event queues finished tiers faster than pure Nightmare specialists who ignored TB tokens entirely. For future Part 2 passes, assume similar split-focus design unless patch notes state otherwise.

Redeem active strings on Codes Hub during any rerun — developers sometimes pair event launches with promotional Crystals or Gold that accelerate tier skips.

Golden Z.E.D. and Stryker Rush

Two headline combat rewards defined Part 1’s power fantasy:

Golden Z.E.D. — A golden-variant event tower tied to Tower Battles branding. Z.E.D. lines in TDX historically emphasize zone control and sustained pressure; the golden event version added prestige visuals and event-tuned stats during Part 1 queues. Permanent roster placement depends on whether your account unlocked it before the event ended — see Event Towers for ownership checks and placement limits.

Stryker Rush — An event ability or tower package associated with aggressive rush timing on TB maps. Rush-style tools favor early burst over Farm stacking — the opposite of Expert Fort Classic economy. Part 1 TB maps often had shorter paths or token objectives that rewarded Stryker Rush openings; those maps may not translate 1:1 to Nightmare custom layouts.

Neither pick automatically replaces Golden Juggernaut or Railgunner in Nightmare finales. Treat them as event flex slots until post-event rebalance notes on Rebalance Update prove otherwise.

TB gamemode, maps, and tokens

Part 1 added a TB gamemode with maps and rules imported from Tower Battles design language — lane structures, spawn pacing, or objective markers that differ from standard Easy-through-Expert progression. Players earned TB tokens per match to spend on battle pass levels or event shop entries.

Token farming strategies mirrored limited-mode grinds elsewhere in TDX: stack daily bonuses, run squads for speed clears, and avoid AFK penalties in public queues. Map knowledge mattered — TB layouts punish players who only know Map Strategy for vanilla Expert pools.

Screenshots and creator VODs from 2024 remain the best archive for map callouts until Part 2 potentially revives or replaces the pool.

Part 2 — Void Lands, factions, and upcoming towers

Official 2026 Roadmap marketing positions Tower Battles Part 2 as the sequel season: Void Lands setting, three new modes or factions, and teased towers Scout, Aviator, and Phaser. This is announced upcoming content — not live in standard TDX queues when Part 1 ended.

Expect Part 2 to reuse Part 1’s framework (battle pass, tokens, TB gamemode instances) while swapping art direction and roster teases. Void Lands theming may introduce resist types or placement rules that interact with air and recon towers differently from 2024 Part 1 maps.

Do not plan permanent six-tower Nightmare rosters around Scout, Aviator, or Phaser until ability tooltips and placement limits are confirmed. Follow Updates Hub and revisit Event Towers after launch for unlock paths.

How Tower Battles fits TDX progression

Tower Defense X launched November 21, 2023 on Roblox with online co-op and dual upgrade paths. Tower Battles events sit beside core mode progression — you can ignore events and still clear Expert, Endless, and Nightmare with Crystal roster picks. Events reward collectors, crossover fans, and players who want alternate grinds when Endless Tier List farming feels stale.

New players should prioritize Getting Started and Expert Tier List before spending Robux on event skips. Veterans with completed Nightmare investments can treat Part 2 as optional horizontal content unless new towers prove S-tier on Nightmare Tier List.

Catching up if you missed Part 1

Accounts without Golden Z.E.D. or Stryker Rush unlocks should not chase trade scams — Roblox trading rules and TDX ownership flags vary by item type. Focus on permanent roster depth:

  1. Towers Overview — baseline roles
  2. Golden Towers — Nightmare anchor
  3. Codes Hub — free boosts during reruns
  4. 2026 Roadmap — Part 2 timing

If Top Down Games reruns Part 1 cosmetics alongside Part 2, battle pass repurchase details will appear in official patch notes first.
